Lykke Li, Breaking It Up

I found out about Lykke Li from a great friend of mine, and I wish I had known about her earlier. She played not long ago in Toronto and I am disappointed  that I missed out on seeing her perform live. Below is a incredible performance of her single "Breaking it up" from her 2008 album Youth Novels. Enjoy.

Kris Van Assche got it right!

Since Hedi Slimane left Dior Homme and Kris Van Assche took over it became hard to accept the Dior Homme male in a new outfit. Assche's collections have been kinda bland for me, not opening with a bang for his first line in S/S 08 was a bad decision. I thought to myself, its going to take a lot of time and effort to win over the Hedi Slimane for Dior Homme fans. Until now, Assche's F/W 09/10 collection has won me over, in particular this fantastic coat below, in a long and short cut.  I've never been a fan of the asymmetrical cut but Assche has turned me around. I'm ready to retire the old leather jacket and move forward to this beautiful coat in fall 09.

Items For S\S 09

These are some great items I've come across that I'd like for spring summer 09.

The top two items above are by Ron Herman Free City.

At first I was skeptical about the new "Believers" collection by Free City. I truly thought Nina Garduno was out of ideas, just thinking of something random to throw out there. After seeing this collection in person, it started to grow on me, by the time I walked out of the store I wanted a hoodie but for the price of nearly $300 I may have to settle for what I have(for now).

Fantastic Drop Crotch shorts by Raf Simons.

The top two photos are by Etro, for the Spring/Summer 09 collection. 

This collection by Etro has some of my favorite bags, the colors and patterns really stand out this year. The item below also by Etro, a great accessory to add onto those bags.

Top two photos are by Jean Paul Gaultier. 

The accessories in this S/S 09 collection are what won be over. The belt reflected on the bracelet in the top photo, and the beautiful orange bracelet in the bottom photo.
